Santa Cruz Full-Day Elopement
Your elopement day is more than an hour of sunset photo session with vows tied in. It is a common misconception to assume elopements are a one or two-hour ordeal. I’ve heard countless times “our little elopement” and I’m here to say it and put the myth to rest! Your elopement day is nothing close to “little”. It’s just as special as any way a couple gets married. Do not belittle your choice in tying the knot. just because you didn’t invite distant relatives and acquaintances you haven’t talked to in years! You deserve to give yourself a full-day celebration!
What would you do if you had a day off with your partner and got to do all of your favorite things? What would you do on your dream date? Now add in the exchanging of rings and vows and you have yourself an elopement 💍
There are endless ways to celebrate a full-day elopement, and this is how T & D chose to do to celebrate “I do!”
On this beautiful day in Santa Cruz T & D started their morning with one of their favorite things to do, going on a walk. This spot is special to them and is where they love to take in the sweeping views of the bay and forget about the world.
I scream! You scream! We all scream ice cream! T & D went to their favorite local ice cream shop to indulge after their morning hike. Next, the beautiful couple played with kites🪁 and read love notes to each other with the sound of the ocean. They ended their night splashing around and taking a dip in the sea.
You don’t have to hike the highest mountain or jet off to some exotic destination or go to a courthouse to elope. The only requirement is making the day feel as much as “you” as you can!

Tips on How to Design Your Full-Day Elopement
Plan a date night with your partner at your favorite dessert spot and start brainstorming! A good place to start is choosing a destination. Are you wanting to elope somewhere you’ve never been before and have an exciting adventure? Or are you wanting to play tourist in your own town and stay local to wed?
Next, each of you come up with 3 activities you would wanna do together at your destination. Think about the fundamentals of your relationship and what’s important to your relationship. Do you both surf? Do you enjoy hammocking? Maybe you are big foodie and you decide on a private dinner by a 5-star chef! Or maybe you both enjoy a romantic hot tub sesh and gaze at the stars!
Now that you have some ideas on activities think about your ceremony. Who do you want present? Just you two? A few friends and family? Just family? Just friends? Just your fur babies? Would you want part of your day with family and part of it just the two of you?
Take away the expectations of a wedding or elopement may look like in the media…instead start dreaming up your perfect day! Remember all things go! As long as you meet your local legal requirements to wed, then the world is your oyster!
