Spring Styled Bridal Shoot

After seeing styled shoot after styled shoot on my social media platforms I thought, what the heck! Why not put together one of my own? I did not expect it to be so much FUN. I was basically planning out a mini fake wedding. Don’t get me wrong though, wedding planning is stressful , fake ones were no exception. Then there was always the worry of vendors stepping out last minute leaving me without a cake or bouquet or whatever it may be (this is why you always have back up plans). Luckily I was blessed with the most amazing team who exceeded my expectations:

The Venue: Schnepf Farms the Meadow

From the moment I set eyes on Schnepf Farm’s Meadow Venue I fell in love. It was like my body was transported up north. The surrounding pines brought back nostalgic memories of summer camp outs and firesides while giving off a relaxing and calm atmosphere. It was the perfect place for a woodland nature themed shoot!

The Dress: A Dressy Occasion

I’ve known and loved this gorgeous bridal shop for a while and was ecstatic to hear they would collaborate with me on the shoot! Bringing in the model bride to try on different dresses was like playing barbie dress up all over again, but in real life! How fun is that?? After six different fits we went with the off white lace dress with a matching jewel trimmed veil. Definitely don’t regret the decision!

The Cake: Sugar Petals Custom Cakes

I wanted to go with a more simple and sweet look for this woodland nature theme. Naomi nailed it! Beautiful florals and a few added courtesy of Honey and Shaw.

The Flowers: Honey and Shaw

I was drawn to Ashley’s bouquets by their organic, natural look. The eucalyptus and sweet pastel pink flowers screamed spring and the overall arrangement was picture perfect. She also contributed a lovely floral  mount that added to the stunning rustic arbor!

The Arbor: I Do Rentals AZ

This company is hands down phenomenal! Taryn and her husband were MVPs bringing over and setting up such a breathtaking arbor. It is unlike any I have seen before and the classy lace curtains and chandelier dresses it up just enough to add some flare to this getaway wedding in the woods. I do Rentals also supplied the tea cart that acted as the perfect cake table complete with an antique bird cage and vintage decor that fit the style of the shoot like a glove.

The Invites: Joey Design and Etchings by Emma

Both of these ladies have so much talent! Coming from someone who has never had very legible penmanship, I honestly see their calligraphy as good as magic. Joey provided two bridal suites, a classic black and white and a creative mountainous design. Emma designed her suite with beautiful leafy borders.

The Sign: Etchings by Emma

After coming across Emma’s instagram page and seeing all of her charming handmade signs, I knew a wooden sign reading “Welcome to our happily ever after” was just what we needed to tie together the forest style. Still amazes me how flawless it turned out!

The Hair: Michelle Method

I have been wanting to work with Michelle for a while and was so happy to get the chance with this shoot. I am obsessed with the chunky braid look she did and am in awe how well she matched my vision. Future brides! I definitely recommend for all hair needs!

The Makeup: Bri Jarvis

Bri is honestly one of the sweetest people I know and absolutely killed it with Micaela’s makeup! She also works at the venue and was an absolute lifesaver helping me out with the shoot. Not to mention on crunch time and only being shown a few inspiration pictures she rocked it with the makeup look. Again future brides, you know who to go to for a flawless face on your wedding day!

The Bride and Groom: Micaela and Spencer

Newlywed Micaela and Spencer got to play bride and groom once again! I purposefully chose a real couple to add to the emotion and authenticity of the shoot. These two are styled shoot newbies and way exceeded my expectation. They seriously were the perfect models!

I am honestly lost at words for how supportive, encouraging and uplifting this community is. Being my first styled shoot, I was nervous how everyone would react to the set up and my styling choices. Immediately I was put at ease as the participating photographers expressed their appreciation of me putting on the shoot and how they loved all the pieces. “I loved the entire layout and how everything came together! I think everything went and flowed well with each other,” one of the photogs expressed post shoot. Another comment was about how refreshing it was to work with local creatives. I loved meeting everyone, getting inspiration, bouncing ideas off one another and making a few new friends while we’re at it. Connecting with people who share the same passion as you is an unexplainable feeling. Seriously so grateful for my photog friends and everyone who I am able to relate to in the wedding industry. Community over competition <3

It was incredible to see my mood board come alive into a wondrous wedding in the woods with the help of these unbelievably talented vendors. Dreams really do come true my friends! Honestly putting the shoot all together was more work than I anticipated, but it for sure paid off seeing the final product. Still shocked I was able to pull this off without anything going terribly wrong. Seriously if you have even considered organizing a styled shoot, go for it! It really challenged me to put myself out there, connect with others, and make new friends along the way. Thank you again for all the support and  to everyone who participated. All in all, first styled shoot was a success. And this undeniably won’t be my last!
